Ancona + Associates were selected to re-brand Boudin Bakeries to provide consistency in product presentation, logo consistency, and overall “brand image.” In essence, Ancona + Associates were hired to tell the Boudin story. Early in the analysis, Boudin advised Ancona + Associates that they wanted to redesign and greatly expand their existing location in Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco to become a flagship for their brand.
The new “Boudin at the Wharf” would include a demonstration bakery, a “walk-thru” exhibit illustrating the heritage of Boudin baked goods, and the brand’s tie to San Francisco Sourdough. It would also include a retail venue and at least one restaurant experience. The final design resulted in a 30,000+ square foot, stand-alone building incorporating all the above, including two restaurant/ dining venues.
B&A provided the start-up planning, A&E design management, and construction program management services from conception through to the start of construction. Those services included all scheduling, the capital budget production, and managing the competitive processes of both the architect and general contractor selection.
